Jacquie Rangel is a mental health counselor dedicated to helping athletes overcome challenges, optimize performance, and find balance in their journey. She is a registered mental health counseling intern and is working under the supervision of Wendy L. Shoaf, LMHC, CEDS-S.

Jacquie holds a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Miami and is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC®) through the Association for Applied Sports Psychology (AASP). Jacquie created the sports psychology practicum site in the University of Miami athletic department and completed her training working with Division I student-athletes and teams.

Jacquie has also been working in the eating disorder field in various capacities for 8 years and draws from both her training as well as her own experience of recovery to help individuals who are also committed to their own healing. She is specifically passionate about helping people reestablish a healthy relationship with movement and training in recovery as they also repair their relationship with food, exercise, body image, and self-esteem.

As an adjunct to CBT and ACT, Jacquie utilizes EMDR and breathwork in her clinical approach. Her view of her clients is an integrated and holistic one and she believes in treating the whole person as opposed to any given symptom.

In addition to seeing clients for individual therapy, Jacquie plans and hosts yearly mind-body-spirit wellness retreats and equips individuals with the skills needed to maintain a sense of vitality. Jacquie maintains an active lifestyle as a yoga instructor and movement enthusiast in the city of Miami.
